As one of the special events in Path of Exile 2 endgame map, Breach involves rapidly expanding cracks in the fabric of reality, allowing you to cross the rift to fight enemies from another dimension. When you defeat enemies in Breach event, you have the opportunity to obtain a large amount of random loot, so if you choose to incorporate this mechanic into your endgame farming strategy, you can significantly increase POE2 currency generation and XP you earn.
Next, let’s share a detailed guide to Breach event, including how it works, boss mechanics, and how to maximize the rewards you get from it. Let’s get started!
How To Activate Breach Event?
When you enter Atlas, the map will randomly generate terrain marked with Breach Event icon. In these areas, you will encounter giant purple hands, and touching them will activate Breach.
As a result, the breach circle will begin to expand, and killing Breach monsters will extend its duration, especially defeating rare and magic monsters can also provide additional duration. So instead of spending more time on the white monsters, you might as well focus on killing those elite enemies. After all, the longer Breach Event lasts, the more POE 2 currency and loot you can get from it.
How To Start Breach Boss Encounter?
When you place Breachstone on the map device and enter the map, you will see a Clasped Hands in front of the area. Touch it and a countdown timer will appear at the top of the screen, and Breach monsters will start to spawn. Your goal is to rush to the boss room entrance before the timer ends. During this phase, the monster will not drop any items, and all loot will only be dropped when you reach the boss room entrance.
Breach Boss Mechanics
If you fail to reach the entrance before the timer ends, you will only be teleported back to the starting point, at which time the loot will be settled.
For Tier 1 to Tier 3 difficulties, you can retry if you fail. However, if the timer runs out in Tier 4 difficulty, you will fail completely. In phase 1, the boss’s mechanics are relatively simple. The one-handed cannon and two-handed cannon attacks can be dodged by rolling. However, you need to watch out for the boss’s burrow attack and ground slam. For the burrow attack, just try to get away from it, and for the ground slam, watch for subtle ground effects and roll at the right moment.
When the boss reaches 50% health, it will enter phase 2, and add a new skill. After a short casting time, the boss will summon multiple giant hands from all directions to smash the ground. Again, time your dodges correctly to avoid getting hurt.
To be honest, this boss is not very difficult, and if your damage is high enough, you can even kill it with one hit. In T1 to T3 difficulty, the boss will drop a high-value item, Hand of Thought and Motion. In T4 difficulty, it can also drop Controlled Metamorphosis Diamond, which has a base price of more than 100 POE 2 Divine Orbs.
Factors That Affect The Profit Of Breach Event
It is worth noting that the terrain significantly affects the profit of a Breach event. Wide open areas are ideal for maximizing monster spawns, and maps such as Savannah and Steppe Map are great choices for Breach farming.
In addition, some map modifiers will also affect the amount of loot you get from Breach events, such as Increased Mob Density, Increased Pack Size, Increased Magic Monster Count, and Increased Rare Monster Count. These modifiers increase the number of monsters in a Breach event, thereby increasing your overall rewards.
Best Build
For build selection for farming Breach, we will not recommend a specific build, after all, everyone’s play style is inconsistent, and it is difficult to satisfy everyone. However, please note that completing Breach event requires efficient clearing speed and high DPS, so when choosing a build, try to choose one with a high clearing speed as much as possible, otherwise this will significantly affect the efficiency of Breach farming.
In addition, it is recommended that you buy POE 2 Currency and invest more in movement speed, you can shuttle across the screen at lightning speed and kill most monsters easily.
Breach Passives
When you defeat a Breach Boss, you’ll unlock Breach Passives, which increase the difficulty and rewards of Breach events.
Examples include: At 2 Breach Points, take Frantic Invasion for guaranteed Breach Splinters drops. At 4 Breach Points, take Crumbling Walls, which gives you a chance to get more Breaches on each map. At 6 Breach Points, take Rising Pyre for an additional 40% monster density. At 8 Breach Points, choose Dimensional Raid or Sustained Siege, depending on your clearing speed. But if your clearance speed is slow, choose Endless Siege.
In addition to dropping currency and equipment, Breach monsters also have exclusive drops, such as Breach Shards, Breach Rings, and various Catalysts. Catalysts can improve the quality of rings and amulets, further improving their related modifiers.
Equipment Quality Enhancement
Note that equipment quality can only enhance one attribute, it cannot be mixed, but it can be overwritten. The maximum quality enhancement for normal equipment, except for Breach Rings, is 20%. Breach Rings are the best rings in Path of Exile 2, and their fixed mods can reach a maximum quality of 50%, which means that this fixed mod can further increase the modifier of the ring by 50%. If you want to win battles in Breach more surely, then improving your equipment quality is something you should always focus on.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Breach activities offer more stable profits compared to Ritual or other endgame activities. If your build is solid and efficient, you can easily earn 10 Divine Orbs per day! So why not give it a try?
